Student’s guide to summarize novels
Student’s guide to summarize novels
In our school, students are often given the task of selecting a novel from the school library, reading it, and then summarizing it in the classroom. They're not just books, they're a part of how you're evaluated at certain levels.if you’ve ever felt unsure about how to handle this assignment, this blog helps you to simplify the process and guide you on how to summarize and discuss these library novels effectively.
Once you choose a novel from the library, you have as much time as you want to read it. Just make sure you finish it before the assignment is due. Now let’s dive in how to summarize it , the first step is providing a brief overview by telling a bit about the author, what kind of story it is, and where and when it takes place.
Then, give a short version of the story, but don't give away everything, just the main parts like the beginning, the problem, the exciting part, and how it ends. Also, think about the big ideas or things that keep showing up in the story, like love, bravery, or important objects to extract the theme from your novel. And finally, share what you personally thought about the story, what you liked or didn't like, and why. Your own thoughts are what make your talk interesting.
In the end, my aim is to make summarizing and discussing novels as easy as possible for students. I hope this guide helps you feel more at ease with the process. So, as you go forward, remember that books are meant to be enjoyed.
Happy reading, summarizing, and discussing!
